QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS
I’m not comfortable using my credit card on-line. What options do I have for registration payment? In addition to credit card payments, we have added the ability to pay by personal check. Upon completion of the on-line registration process, a bill will be created which will give you detailed information for mailing payment. If the option of credit card payment appeals to you, but you do not want to use your card for on-line transactions, you may want to consider purchasing a pre-loaded credit card.
Can I pay by credit card over the phone? At this time, that service is not available. Payment by credit card must be done through the club’s registration website. Debit cards are not accepted by the system as well.
How secure is your on-line payment system? The Oregon Youth Soccer Association and McMinnville Youth Soccer Association has contracted with Affinity Sports to provide the highest level of on-line financial security possible.
I have more than one child registering. Will I need to register them all at once? No. The username and password you create will retrieve any information you have entered in the past. You may register all, or one at a time. The system will remember what you have entered previously, including any applicable discounts for multi-players.
Where does the money for registration go to? Every year the MYSA Board produces a budget for the next soccer season. Registration fees are established to offset the cost of playing youth soccer. Expenses range in degree based on the level of play, but generally speaking there are two ranges of fees: Club Developement Teams and Competitive Teams. Expenses include, but are not limited to: Manditory insurance premiums for each player, Port-O-Potties at fields, Referees, field rent, affiliation fees to local and/or state associations, on-line registration software and web hosting, office supplies, and many others. We have no paid coaches or staff-everyone is a volunteer.

What levels of soccer are in the area or with MYSA? MYSA offers basically two levels of play-Competitive & Player Development (Recreational-Plus). Our Player Development League teams are a new concept for MYSA beginning the Fall 2009 season. Our Player Development Leagues are geared towards offering a play level higher level than what is commonly offered by our good partners at the McMinnville Parks and Recreation. Our Competitive Teams offer a higher and more advanced level of play. Within our Competitive program we offer different levels of competitive play, depending on the where the team places during qualifying tournaments. MYSA strives to offer soccer playing opportunities for both levels for players from ages 9 to 17 years old (U-10 thru U-18). For detailed explaination on our club programs, click on our Soccer Programs link.
What does the U stand for in U10, U11, U13...etc? The U stands for under. It is how we classify the age of a player. A U11 player must be 11 years old on or before August 01 of the year they are playing. For clarification of this age rule, please go to the registration overview page (click here). On that page you will find a chart to determine your child's age appropriate team.
Why does MYSA require a copy of my child's Birth Certificate? MYSA is a member of the Oregon Youth Soccer Association. The Rules and Regulations of OYSA require that each club obtain and hold proof of age for every registered player. This requirement is mandatory for our club. We do not share this information with any other organization, unless an audit is requested by OYSA. Records of inactive players are shredded after each year. Birth Certificates issued by appropriate government agencies are the most common form of age verification; however, Board of Health Records, Passports, Alien Registration Cards issued by the Department of Immigration and Naturalization, and Certificates of Americans born abroad from an appropriate government agency are also acceptable. A copy of any of the above will do. The submission of hospital, baptismal, or religious certificates are not acceptable forms of age verification at this time.
